New York Yankees' RHP Chase Whitley OIP Pitching Mechanics Evaluation

From 2011...will re-evaluate after his start on Thursday for the Yankees.

Leg Extension: -10

Hip Rotation: -18 ...steps open

Follow Through: -13 ...fall away with poor leverage (very little depth/back bend)

Other: -10 (wear and tear, throws across body)

OIP (Overall Injury Probability): 51%

Conclusion: Unless he's improved his mechanics, he's throwing mostly arm and little with body. He'll be unable to have endurance and can't be counted on as an inning eater in the Yankees' rotation. I'm assuming he's a stop gap measure with best arm available for a start.
