Circular Hands Path To The Ball

Your hands take a circular path to the ball in the slot position swing creating maximum torque and bat speed.
There are many rotational hitting mechanics sources available on the internet. Search Jaime Cevallos, John Elliot, Kevin Long...to name a few others.

Catcher's Receiving And Transfer Tip

Catchers are to squeeze the ball when receiving and roll the ball to a grip. It's faster to roll to a grip than picking at it, and it covers the ball with the throwing hand for better ball control.

Throwing For Accuracy

The fundamentals and making mechanically accurate throws are the same for any position player. Assuming you know how to get into a strong throwing "base", your next goal is to have a full shoulder to shoulder rotation at what we call the "big circle"...you target the chest. Wherever the throwing shoulder points to-is the ball will end up after throwing it. Coaching point: There is a tendency to have the ball to sail if you don't bring your hands together before throwing. Plus, that helps line up your front shoulder to your target.

Noah's Arc "Swing"

Question about my baseball swing?
Could you tell me how my batting stance/swing? I will email you the video.
Noah asked.

my response:

Video should show your swing from head to toe...centered...facing the plate...live pitching at game speed preferably because hitters' swings actually change against a machine, but we'll take a machine swing if that's all we can get.

Fruit Power

What kind of fruit helps a baseball pitcher's arm?
I need help finding a fruit that can help a baseball pitcher with the bones of his arm he use to throw a baseball that will help so when he finished pitching his arm wouldn't hurt.

Orlando asked

my response:

Pitchers usually mix Norwegian Wild Cherry Cod Liver Oil with chocolate milk for their pitching arm and joint care. Chocolate milk is now well known for post recovery benefits, but the cod liver oil can't be mixed with water...so there's a dual purpose. The only fruit I heard recommended was kiwi due to it's perfect pH balance even though some players are drinking coconut water.
You're going to have some muscle soreness even if you have the best pitching mechanics. Soreness is caused from small particles of muscle being rubbed off from muscle activity (fiber friction).

Larry "Two Fists" Question Of The Day

Is it bad to use more than one baseball bat?
I already have a metal baseball bat and I'm wondering if it would alter my swing if I also got and used a wooden bat of the same length and weight.
Larry "Two Fists" asked:

my response:

Not bad...it's preferable!

It is possible to develop a metal bat swing that has a sweep to it because the hitter can still get a piece of the ball on or below the "brand above the hands" on inside pitches.

Hitting (casting) with a wood bat and making contact in that area of the bat on an inside fastball is not so forgiving.

Use the wooden bat in practice to teach yourself a short radius swing, and use the metal bat as a game bat to take advantage of the short radius swing in your game at bats.

Why is stability important in a baseball swing?

Stability as in the movement? Also why are both stability and balance important in a baseball swing?
Peter asked

my response:
Stability and balance during movement improves pitch recognition and pitch tracking as well as swing mechanics efficiency.
Keeping a still head in the swing allows a hitter to improve dynamic visual acuity during the fine centering/soft centering tracking phase by using only 4 of the thirteen eye muscles...any more than that causes blurring.

Physics of the slot position swing require a stable axis in order to improve efficiency, reduce rotary inertia, and increase hip rotation.
