Generally, many pitchers' mechanics in the big leagues are
flawed... to the point of it's not whether or not that they'll break down,
but when. Here's hoping the MLB organizations will hire (more) competent minor
league pitching instructors in the future so they can supply their parent clubs
with quality arms that can carry the expected workloads. Absolutely, this is a
fixable problem.
The Baltimore Orioles are working on it as they are the only
organization that films every pitcher on every level. They digitize the videos
and run them through their bio-mechanic software program and provide the
pitchers and pitching coaches the information.
